Tasers Kill

Tasers were supposed to be the answer to deadly force by police. Instead, they raise a host of new issues. Excessive use and improper training have resulted in dozens of lawsuits across the nation. At least 48 people have died in the United States this year as a result of police use of tasers. Most common are cases in which a tased and incapacitated person falls and strikes his head after being tased. Victims who suffer from heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and other chronic medical conditions are most susceptible to taser deaths.
